CCECA is once again pleased to announce that it will award 16 scholarships of $1,000 each to area graduating seniors or students already attending college full time (12 semester hours). These scholarships will only be available to students who reside in a residence receiving service from Cooke County Electric Cooperative Association. We encourage all eligible students to apply for these scholarships. For a detailed list of eligibility requirements and an application form, please do one of the following:
- Contact your high school counselor’s office
- Email Carolyn Powell at carolyn.powell@cceca.com
- Stop by the cooperative’s office at 11799 W. US Hwy. 82, 1.5 miles east of Muenster
- Visit the cooperative’s website at www.cceca.com
Applications must be received at the cooperative’s office no later than March 2, 2012. Winners will be announced within two weeks of the deadline. This is the 14th year CCECA has offered scholarships to graduating area high school students. These scholarships are made possible because of legislation enacted in 1997 whereby a nonprofit electric cooperative can put unclaimed funds (previously collected by the comptroller’s office for the state’s general fund) to use for educational purposes such as providing these scholarships.
